SaReGa TablaPro User Guide
Welcome
You made a right choice by choosing our product.
When you start the App, you will be prompted with a login screen. It allows anonymous login if you do not wish to disclose any information. A user identifier allows us to save users creation on the cloud , that will not be lost when you change the phone. We suggest using real login instead of anonymous login.
Once you are logged in, you will be prompted to launch screen.
Home Screen
You can choose to explore the App features or start with Alap Practice, or Tabla Practice. If you like start playing swarmandal you can do that too.
The setting section allows you to set all the instruments as per your need.
Explore
This gives you over all idea of capability of the App. It doese not include advanced features like TaalMaker or Live Swar Mandal.
Use Icons to start and stop the activity. Use Dial to change the tempo or choose a style.
Touch on Taal Name to see Taal Popup.
Touch on Volume to see volume popup.
Touch on Expand button to see expanded view
Select bottom volume button to change the volumes/scale/tempo
Alap Practice
This allows you to select a Raga , scale and then practice with Taanpura. We suggest strongly suggest use of a connected headphone and Pitch Perfect option. This will allow you to see exact notes you are rendering including the accuracy.
Volume Popup can be used anytime , activated by a button which is located at bottom.
Recording option is available at the bottom menu bar.
Tabla Practice
This allows you to select a Raga , scale and then practice with Taanpura and Tabla.
You can select Raaga, Taal, Scale etc..
Once practice screen is launched, you can see the notes you are singing when Pitch Perfect is in use. We suggest strongly suggest use of a connected headphone and Pitch Perfect option. You may toggle use of Manjira.
Use dial option to change the tempo and style. If you use live play, you will see additional controls.
Expand button will take you to larger area with less controls.
Volume Popup can be used anytime , activated by a button which is located at bottom.
Recording option is available at the bottom menu bar.
Live Swarmandal
This allows you to select a Raga , scale and then practice with SWARMANDAL.
It allows you basic tabla control . You suggest you select Ragaa prior to playing Swarmandal, See Swarmadal config.
Volume Popup can be used anytime , activated by a button which is located at bottom.
Recording option is available at the bottom menu bar.
Taanpura Settings
You can change taanpura settings such as volume, pluck control, notes for each string, tempo etc.. We recommend use of custom taanpura feature for a pleasant sound and fine control. The fine tune applied to taanpura is also applied to all other instruments automatically.
Tabla Settings
Here you can change pitch, Taal, style. If you made your taal, then select from library "My lib". Default library is "built-in". You can select "Sur Tabla" for lower octave sound.
Swarmandal Settings
SaReGa Tabla Pro comes with built in list of Ragaa for Swarmandal. However the string settings typicallly play Aaroh and avaraoh. For live play more strings are needed. We suggest you copy the Ragaa Settings to your library and Edit to your needs.
It allows 15 strings in each direction (Aroh and Avaraoh).
Each string can be set to whatever notes you like. Additionally, shruti can be set for each note.
Setting Scale and Tempo
This can be adjusted in launch screen for the activity or volume popup or setting screen of tabla.
Saving Your Settings by Song or composition name for Later Recall
Creating new presets:
Setup your tabla taal, tempo, pitch, taanpura and swarmandal.
Select Preset Sub tab in Home Screen.
Type name and description. Select 'Save as New'
Recalling a preset
Select the stored preset from drop down list.
Use Recall button (Recycle) to apply the preset
You can select appropriate recall options.
Updating Existing Presets
Recall existing Preset
Change your instrument settings. Choose 'Save' option to update.
TaalMaker
Use Taalmaker to create new Taal and styles
Click on NEW to add a new Taal. Or select an existing one.
Enter Taal Name
Enter number of beats.
Enter Taali Khali . This indicates clap/wave arrangement. One character for each beat.'S' - For Sam, 'K'- for Khali, Number 1-9 for Taali and 'N' if none of the above.
Click New on Style
Enter Style Name
Enter Notations for each beat.
Notations: Each Bol starts with Upper Case letter except '~' and '-'. You can combine multiple Bol in one one beat, The duration of each bol is automatically adjusted.
'~' indicates sustaining /continuing sound of last bol, '-' indicates silence.
For Example Dha~TunNa is one beat, with Dha being Half beat and Tun and Na being quarter beat each.
You can extend a bol beyond a beat using '~'. E.Q DhaDhin ~Dha Tin ~Na
Dhin is one beat crossing beat boundary, Tin is 1.5 beat.

Dha, Dhin, Na, Ta, Tun , Te, Re, Ke, Tte, Ge, Ghe, Dhun,
There are variation of Ge, that you can use. Ge4 - Open and pressed. Ge5 lightly pressed, Ge6 heavily pressed. Similar variations exists for Dha, Dhin and Dhun, like Dha4, Dha5, Dha6 etc.
Once you input correct bol, click on check mark and then you can save it and then you will be able to play. Once saved using cloud symbol, this taal is available in Tabla screen under "My library".
Note: Saving has some known issues.
Teental Live Play
Teental Live Play option mimics a real player playing tabla. It will vary the Mukhda bols. The mukhda bols are constructed as the play progresses. It can construct simple mukhda or complex mukhda based on level.
User need to select style "Live Play" under teental. Click on small status box to see large box shown here.
The level can be selected by choosing right radio button (level 1, level 2 or level 3).
It will also add Teehais. User can schedule a Teehai by pressing Teehai Label. Or user can schedule Teehai Ending by pressing Teehai End label. Currently this option is made available until March 2019. This feature can be purchased using purchase option.
